TED X: UNLIMITED

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend TED X Youth San Diego. Those of you who are familiar with TED Talks know how inspiring of a platform it can be.

The theme for this year was UNLIMITED. The purpose was to encourage youth to go above and beyond the norm; to pursue life to their fullest potential by making dreams become reality. The theme created an atmosphere that encouraged youth to share ideas, thoughts and perspectives.

Imagine sitting in a room with a 15 year old who created a novel paper senor that detects pancreatic, ovarian and lung cancer in 5 minutes; a man with a story of redemption who went on to motivate others leaving the judicial system and having the opportunity to meet one of the founding members of Soul Pancake (Kid President!). Would you be excited? That’s exactly how I felt! Inspiration and hope surrounded me.  It was the greatest overwhelming feeling I’ve ever felt.

My overall take away from the conference was no dream is too big to dream, but action has to be put towards that dream. Next year, I see myself standing in front of the same crowd, at the same conference, speaking to the youth in San Diego and sharing with them how I chose to be UNLIMITED, UNSTOPPABLE AND UNCONDITIONAL.

How does this benefit you, the reader? I’m able to tell you that now is the time for you to release the fear that is holding you back from accomplishing your dreams. You’re more than capable and you have all you need to make your dreams a reality. If a man who served 19 years in prison was able to change his life and make it a meaningful one, so can you. You have an unmeasurable amount of potential and by all means, release it.
